You were waiting for it and here it comes! This is going to be your new project:
Anglotourfest!
Description:
We are going to run an English-speaking (Anglo) tourism (tour) Festival (fest) in which we are going to show to the rest of the school (and the world) the wonders of the English-speaking countries.
And... How are we going to do that Alex?
It's very easy:
The deadline is the 9th May "Europe day", but every single project must be finished by 29th April.
Marks:
- Individual mark: according to the way the student perform his/her task. 60%
- Group mark: related to the group and how it performs its duties. 30%
- Country mark: the countries are ruled by groups of students who belong to different classes, the more customers and the better the country runs its promotion, the better mark it will obtain. 10%
- Anglotourfest: if the festival runs smoothly and it is a success the will be an extra mark for every single student. 10% extra.
The class is going to be divided in several different countries:
- Scotland
- England
- Wales
- Northern Ireland
- Republic of Ireland
The groups of students are going to be done by teachers, but there should be 5 groups of 5 to 6 students each.
The idea is that every single group is going to work to represent and invite the customers to travel to its country, so the students have to promote the relevant aspects they consider as remarkable from their countries.
What should be included in the promotion?
- The flag of the country and the coat of arms.
- Leaflets to promote the tourism.
- A stand decorated to run the promotion.
- The workers uniform.
- The costumes the students need to act out.
- Typical games.
- Dances and typical songs of the countries.
- Typical food of the countries.
- 2 promoters (6 promoters)
- 2 dancers / singers (6 dancers)
- 1 expert in History (3 experts)
Promoters:
- They are going to promote the tourism of the countries they represent. They have to explain the leaflets and the wonders of their countries.
- They have to explain the visitors the things they are watching and introduce the dance and the songs they are going to listen to.
Dancers / Singers:
- They have to learn how to dance and sing typical songs and dances of the countries they represent. They will dance at least 3 times in the break.
- They will help the promoters and the experts in their duties when they are not dancing or singing.
- They will play typical games with the customers.
- They will attract people to visit their stands.
Experts in History:
- They will explain the most relevant historical facts of their countries.
- They will explain and talk about the flag and the coat of arms of their countries.
- They will act-out and role-play as the character they are portraying from the past.
